Tapestry Information

In celebration of the arts and our talented fine arts students at Howard W. Blake High School of the Arts, our first annual signature event, Tapestry, will be performed in downtown Tampa for one night only. Please join us for our annual production at the Tampa Theatre on March 16, 2010.

This year’s event will showcase the best of what Blake students have to offer, highlighting a wide range of styles and moods of music, writing, film, dance, and theatre, as well as a stunning display of visual art. Those of you who have attended events at Blake High School know how special and professional all of our events are, and this event promises to be the best of the best! Students, faculty member, and alumni will participate in the production, which will include several collaborative works as well as some surprises.

As always, we thank you for your gracious support and look forward to your joining us as we showcase some of Howard W. Blake’s finest! Come and be a part of the excitement!

All funds raised from the event will go to supporting the Howard W. Blake Friends of the Arts Endowment Fund. The foundation’s endowment provides support for the school, its students and its teachers through scholarships for needs students attending summer arts institutes and workshops. It also provides for guest artists and general assistance for critical areas of the school throughout the year. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

The Howard W. Blake Friends of the Arts Foundation is committed to providing funding to Howard W. Blake School of the arts because students involved in artistic endeavors are more likely to graduate with higher levels of self-confidence and leadership skills, positioning them to be better citizens and more productive community members.
