Glenn Jordan Hines Glenn Jordan Hines - Musical Theater

Jordy Hines career spans thirty years as a performer and director in the theatre, working in theaters from New York to Florida to Illinois. Mr. Hines has performed leading roles in over 125 productions including “Show Boat,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Company,” “Brigadoon,” “Irene,” “Die Fledermaus,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and many others. Rounding out his resume are roles in dramas and comedies such as “Noises Off,” “American Buffalo,” “Torch Song Trilogy,” and “So Long On Lonely Street.” He has managed theatre companies, worked in every area of technical theatre, and directed everything from small ensemble groups to full-scale musical theatre productions. Jordy Hines holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Louisville and an MBA. Mr. Hines joined the artist-faculty at Blake in 2007 is very happy to work in the midst of such creative, prolific artists.



Nelson Torres Nelson Torres - Technical Theatre

Nelson Torres is a graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts. He continued his education at Le Moyne College, where he received his Masters Degree in Education.

Mr. Torres’ theatre experience encompasses many areas from acting to directing to working in technical positions. He worked professionally as a carpenter at Syracuse Stage’s in-house scenic shop. He’s also been a member of many regional theaters including Performing Arts of Woodstock (Woodstock, NY), Open Hand Theater (Syracuse, NY) and Teatro del Parque (San Juan, Puerto Rico). Mr. Torres’ theatrical passions are Set Design and Construction, Costume Construction and Acting. As a performer he has performed in Spanish and English speaking roles and directed a number of plays with New Day Ensemble, a New York based theatre group that focuses on Hispanic, African-American and urban plays. Mr. Torres commitment is to foment better society through education, understanding and reconciliation. He joined the artist-faculty at Blake High School of the Arts in 2008 as director of Technical Theatre studies.



David Mann David Mann – Acting

David Mann is the Director of Acting Studies at Blake School of the Arts. Mr. Mann has worked as a professional actor for over fifteen years, appearing in playhouses in California, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida and others. Favorite lead roles include Brodie in “The Real Thing” at Pasadena Playhouse, Edgar in “King Lear” at the Orlando Shakespeare Festival, and Hamlet in “Hamlet” at New Theatre in Miami. He has been teaching acting for ten years, with previous appointments including the University of South Florida, Florida Atlantic University, and the New World School of The Arts in Miami. He is an active member of the actors' union, Actors Equity Association. Mr. Mann holds a B. F. A. from New York University and an M. F. A. from the University of San Diego/Old Globe Theatre. He lives in Temple Terrace with his wife and two children.
